We
went to a witches and wizards camp Updated 08 August 2003 Holly
and Rahim spent a week at a Potter style summer camp, learning spells
and making potions. But did they pass the magical challenge at the
end of the week? Read their report to find out!
"We
decided to go to Camp Beaumont School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
because we are HUGE fans of Harry Potter.
Different
houses
On
our first day at the camp we learnt about the history of magic and
started our interactive spell books.
We
also got sorted into our houses (Dragon and Phoenix) and signed
an oath.
Which
house would you want to be sorted into?
During
the week we read the future (divination), finished our spell books,
and met an owl, a water dragon and a snake.
Flying
lessons
Holly
testing out her flying skills!
Our
favorite activities were potion-making and flying on a broomstick
on a zip wire.
The
classroom was very impressive (apart from when we made potions as
we covered the room in goo!) with black drapes and chandeliers.
Wizard's
maze
At
the end of the week we had to pass a magical challenge which was
to go to a wizard's maze and find all of Ragon the Dragon's teeth
so that he could be freed from the dungeon.
Luckily
we all passed and so we received our wizarding certificates, magic
sets, hats and capes and a copy of our spell books to take home
with us.
It
was great, I hope we get to go again!" Holly, 12, Nottingham & Rahim,
