.: Spiritual Warfare

Though Spiritual Warfare is real, God would not have us to be afraid nor ignorant. His love toward us is infinite, and demonstrated by the sacrificial gift of His Son, Jesus. May we know, love and serve Him with all our hearts.

CALLED TO WAR

I. We have an enemy.

1 Pet. 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

• Luke 10:18 And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
• Eph. 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

II. We are at war.

• 2 Cor. 10: 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
• 1 Tim. 1:18 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,
• 2 Tim. 2:4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please Him who enlisted him as a soldier.

III. Spiritual warfare is real.

• Rev. 12:7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,
• Rev. 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

IV. We have been given armor & weapons to fight & win.

• 2 Cor. 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds…
• Eph. 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

V. We have been given power or authority over the enemy in Jesus Name.

• Luke 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
• Rom. 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

VI. Therefore, let us stand up & fight and WIN, in Jesus.

• 1 Tim. 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
• 1 Cor. 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
• 2 Cor. 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
• Matt. 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
